The Da Nang Museum officially opened its doors to the public on March 28, 2025, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Da Nang's liberation. This significant cultural landmark occupies a restored 125-year-old building that once served as the Da Nang City Hall, originally constructed during the French colonial period in 1898 and inaugurated in 1900.
The museum's main building, designed in the Neoclassical style by a French architect, has played various roles throughout Da Nang's history. It has functioned as the Governor's Palace, the office of the Mayor of Tourane, and later as the Da Nang City Hall. The restoration and transformation of this historic structure into a museum underscore its enduring importance as a symbol of the city's rich past.
