Danang Museum

The new Da Nang Museum officially opened on March 28, 2025, marking the 50th anniversary of Da Nang’s liberation. It is housed in a beautifully restored 125-year-old colonial-era building that once served as the city hall and governor’s residence. The museum showcases nine thematic exhibitions covering the city's nature, people, history, war legacy, cultural diversity, and urban development. Highlights include interactive 3D experiences, multimedia displays, and a multilingual robot guide named Luna.

The Da Nang Museum officially opened its doors to the public on March 28, 2025, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Da Nang's liberation. This significant cultural landmark occupies a restored 125-year-old building that once served as the Da Nang City Hall, originally constructed during the French colonial period in 1898 and inaugurated in 1900.

The museum's main building, designed in the Neoclassical style by a French architect, has played various roles throughout Da Nang's history. It has functioned as the Governor's Palace, the office of the Mayor of Tourane, and later as the Da Nang City Hall. The restoration and transformation of this historic structure into a museum underscore its enduring importance as a symbol of the city's rich past. ​

Spanning over 8,600 square meters, the museum features a basement and three above-ground floors, offering a comprehensive exploration of Da Nang's heritage through nine thematic exhibitions:​

Incorporating cutting-edge technology, the museum employs the Luna robot, a multilingual virtual assistant that guides visitors through the exhibits, enhancing the overall experience. This integration of technology reflects the museum's commitment to making history accessible and engaging for all audiences. ​
