Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s first national park, now offers a mystical night tour experience, launched on May 4th. Under the night sky, nearly 100 guests embarked on the inaugural journey aboard electric vehicles, exploring the rich nocturnal life of the forest highlighted by glowing fireflies.
Tourists are thrilled by the close encounters with the park's diverse wildlife. The dark forest comes alive with the sights of rare animals such as pangolins and wild cats. "The experience is completely natural, unlike any night zoo or safari I've been to," shared Thanh Tung from Ninh Binh, voicing his awe despite a modest showing of fireflies.
The night tours run daily from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each tour, accommodating up to 10 people per vehicle, lasts about an hour with the final tour departing at 8:45 p.m. The carefully planned route ensures a minimal impact on the natural environment, allowing for an intimate yet respectful wildlife experience.
Emphasizing conservation, the tours are designed not only for enjoyment but also to educate visitors about the park’s efforts in preserving its flora and fauna. "Our goal is to increase environmental awareness among our visitors," explained Mr. Pham Kien Cuong, Director of the Center for Environmental Education and Services at Cuc Phuong.
Interest in the night tours has surged, with thousands of registrations flooding in since the announcement. Adult tickets are priced at 100,000 VND, with a discounted rate for children. Staying overnight in the park is recommended to fully experience what these unique tours have to offer.
To make the most of their visit, guests are advised to wear long clothes and bring mosquito repellent. Cameras and binoculars are recommended for those hoping to capture or get a closer look at the elusive wildlife, although the darkness offers a challenge to photographers.
