Vietnam Airlines has launched a new direct air route, becoming the first Vietnamese carrier to connect directly with the Philippines. The inaugural flight, VN648, took off from Ho Chi Minh City at 12:50 AM on June 17 and arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila at 4:20 AM the same day.
Seven flights per week
Four flights on the HCMC-Manila route
Three flights on the Hanoi-Manila route
Vietnam Airlines sees the Philippines as a promising market, aiming to serve tourists, business travelers, and the communities of Vietnamese and Filipinos residing in each other's countries.
Vietnam has become an attractive destination for Filipino visitors due to its proximity, affordable travel costs, and rich cultural heritage. Conversely, the Philippines is a popular destination for Vietnamese travelers.
With the growing strategic partnership between the two countries, the launch of these direct flights is expected to open up numerous opportunities for tourism, trade, socio-economic, and cultural development.
