The Unicorn dance holds significant cultural importance in Vietnam. This traditional performance, often referred to as the Lion dance, takes place on special occasions such as New Year's Eve and the Mid-Autumn festival. According to ancient Vietnamese history, the unicorn first appeared around 600 AD. Similar to the dragon, the unicorn is a mythical creature believed to bring peace, happiness, and prosperity wherever it manifests.

It's also known as the Lion dance and is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, usually during autumn or Tet holidays. The Lion dance accompanied by a group of youngsters carrying various animal-shaped paper lanterns attached to long poles. These lanterns represent creatures such as rabbits, dragons, fish, or even multi-winged stars. Over time, the Lion dance has also become a customary feature of the country.

The Unicorn dance stands as a vibrant testament to Vietnam's rich cultural heritage, captivating audiences with its captivating performances and symbolizing auspicious beginnings and prosperity.
